Meet Our Doctors

Drs. Joe and Lisa have been under regular chiropractic care since birth; neither one of them have ever taken any drugs or been vaccinated.  ...And they’ve never been seriously ill or had any allergies, asthma or any other conditions most of their childhood friends had.  They’ve been to Nicaragua 3 times on chiropractic mission trips.  Most of the people at their wedding were chiropractors!  In other words, chiropractic is their life. 
 
Dr. Joe Coffman
Dr. Joe was born and raised in Kansas City, MO.; moved to Chattanooga, TN when he was 17, and lived there until 2008 when he and Dr. Lisa moved to Boca Raton, FL...Dr. Lisa’s hometown.  He has two sisters and a brother.  He grew up playing soccer, baseball, basketball, track and field, springboard diving, and cross country running.  Although he didn’t begin until his sophomore year, he became an accomplished football kicker and punter, with a personal best of a 54 yard field goal and a 52 yard punting average.  In addition, he claims his 289 bowling score and 190 league average as some of his proudest “sporting” memories.  He also played symphonic and jazz trumpet for 13 yrs. and toured for a summer with the Cavaliers drum and bugle corp.  The Cavalier’s placed 3rd in the world that year.  And if that wasn't enough, he was a Boy Scout for 10 yrs. in which he worked as summer camp counselor for two years and earned the Eagle Scout Award.  As you can imagine Mrs. Coffman, was the original "soccer mom".
Right out of school, Dr. Joe had the honor to practice with his father for about 4 yrs. before having the opportunity to also learn from his father-in-law for over a year.  He states that during his time mentoring with his fathers, he had the joy and valuable experience to care for everyone from infants to 98 year olds; from quadriplegics to professional athletes.
Dr. Joe is certified in the SpineCor scoliosis bracing system.  He has a passion and sympathy for those suffering with scoliosis and continues to develop not only the SpineCor program but also an advanced intensive correction program for future implementation at Vivify.
He is also currently seeking advanced post-graduate education in "motor vehicle injury management" to better care for those involved in auto accidents.  This training includes specific emphases in head trauma, brain injury, concussion, MRI, disc herniations, electrodiagnostics, and accident reconstruction/crash dynamics as related to causality, bodily injury, and  impairment rating.   
Dr. Lisa Coffman
Dr. Lisa was born and raised in Boca Raton, FL.  Other than her time in college and a short time in Chattanooga, TN following her marriage to Dr. Joe, she has lived in South Florida her entire life.  She has 3 younger sisters.  Two of her grandparents are Italian and she loves embracing that family heritage in her life…especially spending time cooking with her grandmother!  Not only did she excel in her endeavors in the Girl Scouts and chorus, she’s the brain in the family.  She graduated high school with an International Baccalaureate diploma, and then went on to attend undergraduate school at the prestigious Stetson University.  In Chiropractic school, she was elected president of the only professional chiropractic sorority on campus.
Dr. Lisa developed a very unique business immediately after graduating  chiropractic school, in which she would cover other doctors’ practices while they were on vacation or for longer periods, like maternity leave.  Because it’s not easy to find a competent doctor to trust your practice to in your absence, it didn’t take long before she was quite sought-after.  To-date, Dr. Lisa has had the blessing of running 15 different practices.  She credits this valuable experience of seeing such a wide variety of cases so early in her career for much of who she is as a doctor today. 
One of the things we love about Vivify are the families.  We love taking care of lots of kids and expectant mothers, and we will strive to continue developing the practice in this direction.  Dr. Lisa is continually seeking post-graduate training in her passion, prenatal and pediatric chiropractic care.  Only a small fraction of the profession is experienced in these areas, and as a result about half of the Vivify practice members are kids.  Dr. Lisa has even been asked, and graciously accepted to attend the births of several of our practice members to attend to the chiropractic needs of the mother during labor; as well as to check the new born immediately following its very stressful experience of coming into the world.
